Some Girls Bite By Chloe Neill Review

Sure, the life of a graduate student wasn’t exactly glamorous, but it was Merit’s. She was doing fine until a rogue vampire attacked her. But he only got a sip before he was scared away by another bloodsucker and this one decided the best way to save her life was to make her the walking undead.

This debut novel by Chloe Neill is not only action packed, it’s hilarious. I couldn’t put it down, I finished it in hours and jumped online right away to see when book two was out (October 6th, according to Amazon).

In a world where Vampire’s have just came out of the “closet”, Merit is attacked by a Rogue Vampire on her way home from University. Ms. Neill’s writing is hilarious and her character’s extremly charming. You can’t help but love Merit and her determination to continue on as if she is still human.

Merit is the daughter of an extremly rich jerk of a father, who blames Merit for being attacked by a rouge and only worried about what negativity it will bring him.  Merit on the other hand, doesn’t really want anything to do with her family or the family name that she uses as a first name (you never do find out her first name).

After she’s attacked, another vampire saves her “life” and she finds out he is from one of the Head Houses of vamps in Chicago. Ethan is expecting Merit to be like everyother fledgling and fall at his feet. Boy is he surprised!!

When Merit finds out that her attack may be part of a large threat to all the Houses, she has to decide if her undead life is more important than saving Ethan’s life.

5/5 Stars

From learning to fight, to learning to give in a little bit to Ethan, Merit’s story is a great read!
