Undead & Unwelcome By Maryjanice Davidson

Betsy Taylor has problems that only a vampire queen/suburban wife could possibly understand. Such as taking the body of her werewolf friend Antonia, who died in her service, to Cape Cod, where she’s not sure if the Wyndham werewolves will welcome her with fangs or friendship. Meanwhile, her posse back in St. Paul is sending frantic e-mails alerting Betsy to her half-sister’s increasingly erratic behavior. Looks like the devil’s daughter is coming into her own and raising hell.

Once again Betsy has gotten herself into a mess and has to fix it! Since Antonia took a bullet for her and died, Betsy has to take Antonia’s body to her werewolf Pack. The very same Pack that basically drove Antonia out for not being able to change and for having predictions. Never mind BabyJon seems to send some werewolves skittering away and one can’t even remember BabyJon exists. And of course there’s the ever even-tempered Sinclair, always at Betsy’s back.

All the while, back at Betsy’s home, her half-sister Laura has finally lost her mind and is on a “quest” along with a ton of Satanist to “help” Betsy out, or so Laura thinks. While poor Marc is loosing his mind trying to get into contact with Betsy by email. Poor Marc doesn’t realize Betsy will not respond to his emails because she can’t read his email short-handed slang!

It seems like Maryjanice is finally letting Betsy grow and have a brain that thinks about more than shoes and labels. I love the new twist on Betsy, I like her a lot more now that she’s thinking about more than just herself. And once again, Maryjanice has great one liners that make you giggle out loud and wish you had a friend like Jessica. Great addition to the Queen Betsy series, can’t wait to here what happens with BabyJon!

5/5 Stars
