Friday Night Bites – Chloe Neill

Posted in Reviews

friday-nbThe story of a young heiress’s initiation into the dark society of the Chicagoland Vampires continues…
Ten months after vampires revealed their existence to the mortals of Chicago, they’re enjoying a celebrity status usually reserved for the Hollywood elite. But should people learn about the Raves-mass feeding parties where vampires round up humans like cattle-the citizens will start sharpening their stakes.
So now it’s up to the new vampire Merit to reconnect with her upper class family and act as liaison between humans and bloodsuckers, and keep the more unsavory aspects of the vampire lifestyle out of the media. But someone doesn’t want peace between them-someone with an ancient grudge…

Friday Night Bites is the second book in Chloe Neill’s Chicagoland Vampire Series.

Merit has decided she’s had enough of living with Mallory (her best-friend and new Sorceress) and Mallory’s boyfriend, Catcher (a Sorcerer) after seeing one too many naked rendezvous between the two. That means she’s going to have to move into Cadogan House and seeing as she is the House’s Sentinel, it makes sense, faster response time. The only issue with this new living arraignment comes in the form of the House’s Master, Ethan Sullivan. There’s some serious sexual tension between Merit and Ethan as well as some annoyance issues that they both bring out in each other.

Of course there are apperances by Morgan, the vampire Ethan basically forced Merit to date. Catcher & Mallory. Merit’s Grandpa, the head of the underground supernatural “police”. There’s non-stop action, Merit’s always stepping on someones toes and of course lots of sexual tension. (Come on Chloe, you’re killing us).

I am a huge fan of Merit, the series so far has been great! Friday Night Bites is a bundle of excitement and enough to make you wish Ethan bit you instead of Merit. This time, Chloe has left us hanging BIG TIME. July 2010 cannot come soon enough!I am very impressed with Chloe’s writing style and set ups, nevermind the book is full of great Merit  insults. Chloe is an author to watch and one of my favorite new authors of 2009!
