hotspell_coverEverybody knows there’s no love lost between paranormal investigators Amanda LaGrange and sexy Jacob Caine. They can’t even stand being in the same room together….

Well, unless it’s an enchanted bedroom. And they’re trapped there, at midnight. And the sexual tension suddenly becomes too powerful to resist…

Then that bedroom gets really hot, really fast But come morning, they still can’t keep their hands off each other. Are they cursed forever? If so, neither one’s complaining.

Michelle Rowen has been one of  my favorite authors since I picked up Bitten & Smitten, references to my city, Toronto and Vampires? Loved it. Sadly, the Sarah Dearly series has come to an end but now Michelle has moved over to Harlequin Blaze. I must admit, this is the very first Harlequin book I have ever read and I was pleasantly surprised.

Amanda and Jacob are paranormal investigators, though they’ve worked for the same company for two years, they have managed to avoid working together in an investigative capacity since their first meeting. Jacob called Amanda a nickname that she was taunted with in school and it sat wrong with her, no matter how good looking he was. Poor Jacob had no idea what he had done to offend Amanda, but he steers clear of her. They just push each others buttons, no matter what they say. While investigating a haunting, they end up in an enchanted bedroom and at the stroke of midnight, something strange happens.

I loved the storyline, which is so different from what I am used to in Michelle’s writing, as its not actual paranormal characters but paranormal investigators. The quick witted female lead was there in Amanda, and the yummy Jacob was just yummy. If you want a quick read, this is a great one day read. I was left wondering though, is this a one off or the start of a series? Anyone know?

My rating, 4/5
