Without the evil vampire Bishop ruling over the town of Morganville, the resident vampires have made major concessions to the human population. With their new-found freedoms, Claire Danvers and her friends are almost starting to feel comfortable again…
Now Claire can actually concentrate on her studies, and her friend Eve joins the local theatre company. But when one of Eve’s cast-mates goes missing after starting work on a short documentary, Eve suspects the worst. Claire and Eve soon realize that this film project, whose subject is the vampires themselves, is a whole lot bigger-and way more dangerous-than anyone suspected.
With Bishop gone, a lot of things have changed in Morganville. It’s a lot calmer in terms of no epic battles, but that doesn’t mean Fade Out is boring by any means. Claire is still working for the Vampires, Mrynin who’s still not all there. Amelia is still mourning the death of Sam and really slacking at doing her duty as the towns leading Vampire.. Shane is still dating Claire and trying to be respectful to her parents by making sure she sleeps at her parents house and not the Glass House . Eve is still Eve, and dating Michael.
Eve has picked up a pretty wickedly bitchy friend, Kim, at auditions for A Streetcar Named Desire. Claire automatically doesn’t like Kim and the feeling seems mutual once Kim finds out that Claire is dating Shane, who Kim dated once in the past. By the end, you either hate Kim with a passion or feel sorry for her.
Ada, Myrnin’s computer has went slightly more crazy then Myrnin himself, then add that to a new bunch of Vampires who are rough around the edges in more ways than one and you’ve got a whole bunch of issues. Fade Out is definitely face paced, though I wish it would have been a little longer.
I liked Fade Out alot, it’s refreshing to read a YA series that focuses more on the action and adventure side as opposed to a main focus of sex like most have been doing lately. If you are a fan of the series, you’ll love Fade Out. Rachel has done good, once again.
