Welcome to Writings of a Wicked Book Addict, Dakota! Nice that you finally cleared your busy schedule for little old me
DC: I had two minutes between manicures and my Brazillian wax, so I figured the least I could do was throw you at least a minute five
No, seriously, thank you for having me. LOL
WLP: Since this is supposed to be all Christmas-Like, what’s been the best Christmas gift you have received?
DC: OMG—by far the best gift I’ve ever gotten was the Barbie Dream House back in the days of yore before electricity, the Internetz and Amazon shopping.
WLP: What about given? What did you get ME?
DC: You know, I can’t recall any super awesome gift I’ve given anyone… So I guess you know where that leaves you and your gift, right? Tee hee.
WLP: Do you have any traditions for the holidays?
DC: No matter what, we have weenies in a blanket. If we were living under a bridge, I’d have to produce or I’d be voted off the island.
WLP: Moving away from the holidays, your next book: Accidently Demonic is out February 2010, can you tell us about it?
DC: This accidental surrounds Casey, Wanda’s sister and well, stuff happens and she’s turned into a demon. And then it gets worse. A lot worse. How’s that?
WLP: How many books are currently in store for the Accidental Series?
DC: No set in stone plans at this point, but if another “oops” idea comes to me, I’ll give it another whirl
WLP: Who has been your favorite character to write in the series?
DC: I can’t choose because they really are like kids, dude. I love them all for different reasons. So forget it if you thought I was going to let you rile Nina enough to come slap this bitch down
WLP: If you could write in another genre, what would you write in?
DC: I’m doing it right now—I’m writing a contemporary series based on ex-trophy wives and loving ever, torturous moment of it. But I’d also like to tap a YA
WLP: What has been your favorite thing about being a writer?
DC: I can make up the perfect friends? LOL—no, I’m kidding. I spend 10-12 hours a day off somewhere in my imagination
WLP: I know you are a die hard Rock Band fan, what’s your favorite song to play too?
DC: I have several. My latest is Point Of No Return by Kansas. I LOVE that, but I have many I enjoy. Run To The Hills comes to mind, too
WLP: What’s the last song from RB that you downloaded?
DC: Tie Your Mother Down by Queen. So fun!
WLP: What’s new pussycat?
DC: Uh, I’m Never Gonna Fall In Love? No, wait—Delilah! Green, Green Grass of Home? Are we done with Tom Jones—how ‘bout some Barry Manilow? Exactly where are we going with this question?
WLP: Are you as funny as I think you are? Or is it all an act to confuse us poor readers? What do YOU find funny?
DC: Snort. No, I don’t think I’m funny even a little. I’m confused by that label never mind the poor readers. LOLLOL. I find people funny, attitudes, RL situations. I can find a reason to snark on almost anything.
WLP: I just read that you actually were an online reviewer prior to actually writing? SERIOUSLY? What did you do when the book you were reviewing was horrible? Were you upfront about it? Now as a writer do you feel guilty for giving bad reviews?
DC: Yes, that’s true. I reviewed a gozillion books for a site in like a year before I wrote my own, and yes, if I didn’t like a book, I was honest. I was honest with humor, though—which was what led me to writing.
I was never afraid to review a book and be truthful about my op, but I always did it with a joke attached, and I tired to find a redeeming factor for the read. Probably yet another reason reviews saying my characters are sluts and I write like a kindergartner doesn’t upset me. I’ve always been okay with opinions—everyone has one, and if you don’t like my books, I hope you find someone else’s you do like
WLP: What has been your favorite book in 2009?
DC: Dream a Little Dream by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
WLP: Finally, the next author up is Mark Henry…ask Mark ANYTHING you want and he HAS to answer……
DC: Darling Mark,Do you think I’m prettier than Jaye Wells and Nicole Peeler? Love, Dakota
WLP: I want to thank Dakota for being the kick off to 13 Wicked Days of Christmas! Couldn’t have had a funnier/weirder start
xoxo

Loved the interview, and I completely understand about weenies in a blanket. They are a part of the holiday tradition for us as well.
Looking forward to the new book.

I have just found this blog and became a follower! I have never read your books before but they sound awesome! Do you enjoy your research?
LOL–well, depends on what I’m researching. I’m not much of a researcher unless it’s a little fact I throw in. Most everything I write, I just make up–which means I’m a lazy ass, eh? LOLLOL
Thanks, doll!
