I love Christmas. It’s my favorite time of year. Everything about it is great. I love the tree, and decorations. Christmas movies, and music, its all so fun. I’m not particularly religious so Christmas to me means presents and family.
I am a junk food junky (I know it seems like a big jump from the last paragraph, but just wait for it). Holidays are hell on the waistline, but mom makes the BEST candies and cookies at Christmas. She makes eggnog cookies that EVERYONE is obsessed with, and she makes some of the best fudge ever. She got it off the back of the marsh mellow cream jar when the recipe was still good (now it’s gross, apparently).
But the best thing she makes is chocolate covered cherries. Almost everyone you talk to didn’t know that those could even be home made, but they can. And they are SOOOO much better than the ones you get in stores. She sends out Christmas packages with baked goods instead buying presents and I know at least two people who don’t even tell their children when the packages come just so they can keep all the cherries. I’ve told her that she should start an online business selling them because she would be rich. I’ve also told her she should start a restaurant, but she just doesn’t listen. She could be the next big name on the Food Network.
I’ve already got some Christmas presents this year. Mom took me clothes shopping (it’s much easier to buy someone clothes when they’re with you), and she bought me a book and coffee that day. And we went out for sushi. Though, so far my biggest Christmas present has been my e-book releases. I had two back to back book releases on the 17th and 18th, and now I invite you to enjoy the blurbs.
Fear of Darkness by Honoria Ravena
Vahe Patten is a Watcher in the King’s guard. The vampire king, that is. As a Watcher, Vahe executes vampires who break the only major vampire law: keep the secret. When Dylan Andrew starts leaving his murder victims for the human authorities to find, something must be done. While in Haven, Vahe enters the dreams of a woman plagued with nightmares of her past. When he sees Dylan flirting with her in a bar, he knows she’ll be his next victim.
Natalya Woods just wants to avoid her ex-husband. The small town of Haven, Maine seems perfect until she’s attacked in the street by, literally, the man of her dreams.

Hunted by his people, the shapeshifter, Jayden, sheds his human skin after escaping his execution. 200 years later he’s still on the run. When he’s attacked in the remote woods in Wyoming, the last thing he expects is to be saved by a human woman.
When Maura finds a rough looking group of men hunting a tiger in her forest, she doesn’t hesitate to pull a gun on them and release the animal. What she doesn’t expect is for that frightening cat to change into a gorgeous, surly man with a tortured past.
But when his people threaten her life, will he save her, or leave her to the wolves?

My family makes tons of wonderful things this time of year. Grandma makes a cheese ball, and everyone protests if it’s not made. And I wish prime rib were less expensive, maybe I’d be eating that for Christmas dinner.
Food sounds delish!

Congrats on the releases! I LOVE homemade chocolate covered cherries. That’s what I forgot in my mess of sweets. I have tomorrow off so I’ll make them then. Just in time for Christmas.
Lol, have fun making your chocolate covered cherries! It’s a lot of work.
Congrats on your new releases! I make candy every year! I made home made pecan rolls the other day and my son helped me make them. It take an extra pair of hands when your do these!
Its great to find people who still make home made candy. The store bought kind just isn’t the same.

Pls don’t be offended, but I have to ask! What is the origin of your name? It’s beautiful!
Also, looking forward to checking out your new releases! Thanks for sharing!

Lol, I’m not offended. It’s a pen name actually. Honoria comes from M.A.S.H. It’s Charles Winchester’s sister’s name. It means honor and it’s Latin, but I didn’t pick it for the meaning. I thought it was pretty and not common. Ravena is the last name of my favorite character in the book that inspired me to start writing (Shattered Mirror by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes).
Thanks! It is a wonderful name and it;’s always neat you know the info behind the choice!
congrats on your u comingbooks thats awesome!

About the food during the holidays, I’m pretty sure that the saying is that calories and fat are non-existent in holiday foods and that suits me just fine. lol
