Release Update & Vampires

Regarding my previous post today, I finally have my hands on a copy of Molly Harper’s latest book. It took a bit of a mission, 30 minute walk but I got it! Another location, World’s Biggest Bookstore, got Molly and Jenna’s books in this morning and already had them shelved. Whoo Hoo! Mind you I already have Jenna’s book, but it was nice to see only ONE copy left on the shelf after it was only put out this morning! I spoke with Adrian Phoinex today and her Editor told us both the reason it’s not in Canada yet is due to storms (US) and the holiday’s, but it’s on it’s way and should be in Canada soon. Marta Acosta left a great comment about Book Release Dates on the previous post:

Hi, Natasha, ha, I learned with my first novel that release dates are just a suggestion. Seriously. Sometimes books are out weeks before the official release and sometimes they get stuck in a warehouse. Sometimes delivery gets delayed by bad weather. Sometimes they are misshelved. I’ve showed up to an arranged signing and been told by a clerk that he couldn’t find my books. I found them in fiction. He hadn’t bothered to use his computer to try to locate them. He said, “Oh, I thought they were romance because the cover had red in it.” I said, “Well, that tells me more about you than the books.”

In short, just try to be patient about these things.

As I was out trying to locate books, I damn near had a heart attack…I saw not one but two Vampire’s. Yep, Vampire’s in Toronto. A store downtown was changed this summer into a live action advertisment for movies. In the summer it was Harry Potter, they changed the whole store into a Wizard’s Studio and had one of the actors from the last movie (Tom Felton) come in for a signing. It was pretty cool to see, but I figured it was a one off. Last month it was Sherlock Holmes, but I don’t know if anyone showed up for it since I was hiding from the cold.

So here I am walking past when I see the store’s been changed into an old skool Mom & Pop Soda Shop. There’s a man and a woman both in the red and white stripped uniforms…then it happens….the man smiles at me. FANGS. I SAW FANGS. I kid you not I must have dead stopped in the middle of the street, my head said “You’ve got to stop reading so many vampire novels, you’re imagining fangs on people”. I looked back up at him and now he’s in full grin…yep FANGS! Then I clued in, it’s for Daybreakers. I’m not loosing my mind people, but I went back after the bookstore to get pictures. They were gone. So maybe I have finally lost my mind, but the storefront is still a Soda Shop..so who knows!
