Now Briggs begins an extraordinary new series set in Mercy Thompson’s world but with rules of its own.
INTRODUCING THE ALPHA AND OMEGA NOVELS…
Anna never knew werewolves existed until the night she survived a violent attack and became one herself. After three years at the bottom of the pack, she’d learned to keep her head down and never, ever trust dominant males. But Anna is that rarest kind of werewolf: an Omega. And one of the most powerful werewolves in the country will recognize her value as a pack member and as his mate.
Anna is an Omega, but that doesn’t mean she is the lowest wolf in the pack. Though her previous Alpha and pack tried to beat that into her. Charles is an alpha, also the Marrok’s muscle. In this story Anna and Charles wolves have mated but their human counterparts have not. Together they are fighting against an enemy, one of the oldest wolves alive.
I had read the first novel of the Mercy series and to be honest, I really wasn’t a fan. Thankfully I read Cry Wolf and liked it much better than the Mercy series. I had a few issues with Anna though, for an Omega she is not very dominant. I get that she was abused at the hands of her previous pack leader, but even still she should have had some sort of dominance struggle. How could she not know she was an Omega or that she had power? Not a typical werewolf story, but it was good for a quick read. Also, there isn’t a lot of back-story even though this is a new series, you would still have to read the Mercy series to understand as it still relies on pieces of the Mercy series. I was confused a bit and I had read one of the Mercy books, so it would be wise to read the whole series before starting this spin off because some of it just doesn’t stand alone.
My Rating: 3/5

hahaha… I just made a post on the series too!!=)
Last night I finally got to read the start of the Alpha and Omega series in On The Prowl.
I waited for the copy to be available at the library which turned out to be a very long wait!! But in that time bought Cry Wolf and Hunting Ground so I am ready!!=)
The short Story was excellent!! I am looking forward to reading more on Charles and Anna!!
The short story in On the Prowl is actually the first “book” in the series. Without reading that story, I don’t think Cry Wolf makes as much sense.
AHHH! Now that makes sense, thanks Jocelyn
