As you said, can't stick them in you purse, can't read them one handed, hate to have to keep up with the dust covers, and they are just too expensive (this could be 3 MM paperbacks). When the heck, did authors decide that the oversized paperback is the way to go, especially new authors. I'm not going to shuck out the $25 for a HC and I'm not spending $15 for that large size (I mean heck this is 2 MM paperbacks). What is this ? fast food where everything is super-sized. There are many new authors that I would have loved to check out their books but as long as they go with the super size, I will wait for that used one or if its really that good a book, the reprint , which is usually MM paperback. The only ones I have are 2nd hand and then when I see them somewhere cheap in SC I get them and give away my HC (or swap with my Mum). I am from Australia too and the HC prises are horrific, so even if I did like them I would not buy them ;) I hate HC books! There goes my budget! :) On the downside, is currency conversion which is nowhere near as bad as it used to be but is subject to change.
