There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bore children to them.
Genesis 6:5

Sister Evangeline was just a girl when her father entrusted her to the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in upstate New York. Now, at twenty-three, her discovery of a 1943 letter from the famous philanthropist Abigail Rockefeller to the late mother superior of Saint Rose Convent plunges Evangeline into a secret history that stretches back a thousand years: an ancient conflict between the Society of Angelologists and the monstrously beautiful descendants of angels and humans, the Nephilim.

For the secrets these letters guard are desperately coveted by the once-powerful Nephilim, who aim to perpetuate war, subvert the good in humanity, and dominate mankind. Generations of angelologists have devoted their lives to stopping them, and their shared mission, which Evangeline has long been destined to join, reaches from her bucolic abbey on the Hudson to the apex of insular wealth in New York, to the Montparnasse cemetery in Paris and the mountains of Bulgaria.

First, I must say Angelology has the most beautiful book cover I have ever seen in my life. When I took this book out of the envelope it came in, I just sat and stared at it. The pictures online don’t show how beautiful it is.

I am not going to reiterate the description of the book, because this one really does it justice and I couldn’t explain it any simpler than an ages old battle between the Nephilim (dark angels) and humanity.

Nephilim: Known for their beauty, the Nephilim are decendants of angels & humans who have perpetuated war & subverted the good in humanity for centuries

Angelology is a really complex book, if you think you can read it in two days, sorry not going to happen. It’s so detail rich and there are so many different angles of the story, you just couldn’t read it quickly or you would miss something important. It is crammed with history from the present to WW2, with multiple characters and references to real people (Abigail Rockefeller).

Angelology: The study of angels. Angelologists are humans who have devoted their lives to fighting the Nephilim

Angelology wasn’t something I would have normally picked up to be honest with you, but I am glad I had a chance to read it. It gives such a different take on Angels, so much so they even come across as scarier than vampires. Trussoni’s writing is unlike anything i’ve ever read, you really can picture the worlds shes crafted right down to the ice forming on the river. The pace of the book starts gaining speed within the first few pages and the plot is intense.

Angelology has had a lot of press, with people calling it the next DaVinci Code. Trust me, it’s better! There’s also talk of Will Smith’s production company taking it on. If you want to fall into a world that quite possibly could exist without our knowledge…pick up Angelology March 9th.
