When Kristin Montgomery discovers her three aunts are fairy godmothers and she’s next in line for the job, her uncomplicated life disappears like magic. No, not like magic; it is magic. Kristin not only has to deal with burgeoning magical powers, but also a reluctant arbiter, a selfish sprite, and a suave French sorcerer. It’s bad enough there are no books or classes she can take to learn magic, but someone is out to take over the Arcani world. Kristin has to trust her heart and her instincts to keep herself and the ones she loves out of danger.
The Wish List is Gabi Stevens first published novel & the first in her Fairy Godmother Series.
Kristin is a CPA who suddenly finds out her “Aunts” aren’t who she thought they were, in fact there’s a whole other world Kristen had no idea existed. Her Aunts are Fairy Godmothers who have finally worked hard enough to be able to retire, Kristen is not only their replacement but she is a Rare One. A Rare One is a “groundling” aka human who has magical blood way back in her family tree and has immense powers.
Tennyson is the arbiter set to see if Kristen is worthy enough to be a Fairy Godmother and gets a little bit more than he bargained for. While Kristen is trying to learn the in’s and outs of being a Fairy Godmother, her and Tennyson have to contend with someone who wants to claim her powers for their own. Throw in 3 older Fairy Godmothers, a fairy and a genius surfer and you’ve got a hilarious & hot paranormal romance.
The Wish List is a breath of fresh air to the Paranormal Romance Genre. We all have read our fair share of witches, vampires and werewolf novels but how many times have you read a book about Fairy Godmothers? I loved the whole idea surrounding the Godmothers, you work for a certain amount of years, some of you have knowledge of the magic community, some don’t. Regardless of your knowledge, you must pass a test in order to even be allowed to use your powers. Kristen’s powers are all over the map, but they are individual to each Godmother which makes for some funny moments. There are a few pretty steamy love scenes that made me wish for a cold shower and my very own “troll”.
My only issue with The Wish List was the villain, I knew who she/he was from the minute she/he entered the storyline. Surprisingly that didn’t hinder my enjoyment of the book, which I read so fast the pages blurred. Gabi Stevens has a very promising series on her hands, I can’t wait to read what happens to the next Fairy Godmother in the next installment Spellbound due out April 2011.
Ohh, this sounds good! Adding to my TBR for sure!!
Thanks
