In a future world where the US has been reduced to a series of island chains, Kathryn “Blue “O’Malley has to work with an enigmatic, arrogant man to predict when the next killer wave will hit, while on the run from the ruthless Runner pirates.

Kathryn “Blue” O’Malley lives alone on an Island of sorts with her dog Max, she has a gift or a curse - the waters surrounding her speak to her. They warned her of the big Tsunami that came and turned the entire world into a vast water-land, killing millions of people when she was only five years old. The same Tsunami that killed her parents & left her twin brother Finn missing.

Raised by her Uncle Seamus, a brutal man who also was a member of the Runners (a nasty group of Pirates) Blue learns how to survive. Since Seamus’ death when Blue was 13, she’s become a valuable commodity. People want her dead & the Runners want her for their own benefit. The Ocean speaks to her, thus the Runners want her so they can loot & kill when people flee. Blue has tried to warn people of upcoming Tsunami’s using her shortwave radio, but some people fail to listen & pay with their lives.

It’s been a lonely life for Blue, with just Max the dog for a companion until a beautiful stranger ends up near death on her Island. His name is Gabriel Black & he’s not all that he seem.  He’s a Runner & he may or may not cause Blue her life & her heart.

Tsunami Blue kept me turning pages, well into the wee hours of the night!

Blue is such a likable character, rich in strength & humor during the worst of situations. She wants to save Gabriel one moment & kill him the next, but she’s in need of anyone to care for. For five years she’s only spoken to her dog Max & on the shortwave radio, she hasn’t heard anyone talk back to her since her Uncle Seamus died. Seamus was a harsh man, while he did teach Blue how to survive her life was also filled with violence. She hasn’t had a hug since she was five years old, but she wants to love. She falls hard & fast for Gabriel, but doesn’t want to admit it to herself in case he breaks her heart. He is after-all, a Runner & they’re known for violence, rape, looting & murder. But Gabriel tries hard to win Blue over, even if it’s just her friendship. Gabriel isn’t like the Runner’s, he’s been on a mission since he lost his family in the first Tsunami. A mission that Blue plays a major part of, even if she fights him all the way kicking and screaming.

I really thought I wouldn’t be able to grasp the concept of a world of just water, everything (stores, homes) underwater but Gayle Ann Williams made it so realistic it became horrifying at some points. Violence & mayhem play a major role in Tsunami Blue, the Runner’s are horrible, men of your worst possible nightmares. The world itself is upsetting, children whos parents have died & they care for themselves at young ages, fighting to survive. It’s a scary reality, it’s so rich in detail you can see it in your mind. I love when a book does that, when I can clearly picture the world built.

Gayle Ann Williams has created a unique story full of action, suspense & a kick-ass heroine who can snark with the best of them!

Shhh….don’t talk about my list or my TBR shelf plus I was just putting all kinds of new stuff on my Kindle. I like to try new authors that way…but it’s MORE short stories and books. *snicker*
