After her hunky police detective partner guns down a serial killer in front of her, “psychic consultant” Eden Riley realizes that she’s no longer alone. A voice in her head introduces himself as Darrak. He’s a demon. But not in a bad way. He was cursed 300 years ago and he wants to find a way to break free. Eden’s psychic energy helps him take form during daylight, and she’s going to have to learn to live with this sexy demon…like it or not.

The Demon In Me is the kick off to Michelle Rowen’s new Living In Eden Series.

Eden Riley is a psychic consultant to the police department, but Eden’s not like any other psychic. She doesn’t really believe she’s a psychic, she gets odd vibes but she can’t just direct things to happen for her. After finding a missing dog which she finds out belongs to the wife of the Chief of Police, Eden is asked to consult with them of the case of a serial killer. Accidentally, Eden finds the serial killer in a closet but little does she know he’s possessed by a demon. When the hot Detective Ben, who is partnered with Eden, kills the serial killer the demon enters Eden.

The demon introduces himself as Darrak, he was cursed by a black witch 300 years ago & has been trying to find her ever since. Due to Eden’s psychic energy, Darrak can take form during the daylight hours which has never happened in all the 300 years he’s been cursed. Together they must find a way to get Darrak out of Eden, because when a demon possess a host, the host only has one year to live & time is running out.

I cannot tell you how much I love Michelle Rowen’s writing, The Demon In Me doesn’t disappoint!  Rowen is one of the best paranormal romance writers out there. Not only does she have solid plot lines that are action packed, but she is one hell of a funny writer. There were a few instances that a snort actually escaped my nostrils! Eden is one hell of a character, she gets possessed & doesn’t go all girlie & have a breakdown…well she does, but she’s strong as hell (ha). She’s a kick ass heroine who deals with all the crap that’s slung at her (and there is a lot) & keeps going. On top of it, Eden gets a crash course on the Supernatural, one that would make anyone freak right out. Not Eden, she takes it in stride & tries to learn as much as she can. But Darrak isn’t always so forthcoming with information, he IS a demon afterall.

Darrak is one hot demon who’s gained a little humanity whilst cursed. He’s been possessing bad people, but with Eden he is gentle, unlike what you’d think a demon would be. He’s overly protective of her even when he’s inside her head during the night-time hours. He’s sexy as sin & the romance scenes between Eden & Darrak are hot hot hot. He does have a bit of a temper, which manifests itself at times through slapping people Eden’s talking too (snort). But there’s some big old issues with their “romance” & they’ll have Leena as a chaperone…..

I couldn’t put The Demon In Me down, it’s one of those books you finish & go “oh damnit, I read too fast”. I actually read the preview of Something Wicked in the back of the book & I never ever read the extras. Thankfully Something Wicked comes out October 2010! If you are looking for a humorus PR with a kick ass plot, go get The Demon In Me. It reminded me of how much I love a good PR.
