Iron King Giveaway

In less than twenty-four hours Meghan Chase will be sixteen. Countless stories, songs and poems have been written about this wonderful age, when a girl finds true love and the stars shine for her and the handsome prince carries her off into the sunset.

But Meghan suspects that it won’t be that way for her. After all, Meghan has a secret destiny—one she could never have imagined….Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan’s life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school…or at home. When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she’s known is about to change.

But she could never have guessed the truth—that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and a pawn in a deadly war.

Now Meghan will learn just how far she’ll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil no faery creature dare face…and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart.

I got my first boyfriend when I was 16! And I slept in class a lot… oh and I was in band! But then I failed it… (don’t ask) and ended up going to summer school. Being 16 was actually really interesting, now that I look back on it…

I just remembering trying not to fall asleep in class when I was 16 and the most memorable thing that happened was one of my friend’s birthday party. It was definitely a crazy event where I remember seeing my friend jump off his balcony into the pool. I was amazed he wasn’t hurt at all.

Turning sixteen was nothing big for me. I spent it over at my aunt and uncles house..guess I was just to much of a tomboy to care. :)

Been wanting the book for ever!!
    Thanks for the giveaway.

Sixteen, hmmm. It is a bit blurry. The beach, big bonfires, friends.

I can’t believe I have not read Iron King yet. I am glad to hear the next one is out soon. I will be able to read them together. Yippee, no waiting!

  • Caitlin Usignol May 24, 2010 at 10:35 am

On my sweet sixteen, I was so excited to get my drivers permit because it was that much closer to being able to a little bit of freedom. I lived so far from my high school and friends that one more year I would be able to hang out whenever I wanted.

  • Kate May 24, 2010 at 11:14 am

I remember that all my friends forgot my sweet sixteen! The day after everyone was flipping out and gave me a ton of gifts and cake to make up for it. That was the best part! :)

  • jessica May 24, 2010 at 11:18 am

i loved being sixteen… the freedom, going to the beach, hanging out with friends and going to watch bands play!

For my sweet sixteen my friend and I had a joint birthday party. Our parents got us and 8 of our friends a limo to downtown St. Louis and we ate at the Spaghetti Factory. It’s the only time I’ve ever been in a limo, and I had such a blast! We called ourselves “Just the 10 of us” and we had a notebook that we wrote notes in and passed it around to eachother at school (so we wouldn’t get caught passing notes!) It was a really great year! :)

Hmm…I remember my Sweet Sixteen we had a freak Blizzard in April and I was stuck in the house for about 2 days. We got quite a bit of snow. That was the most boring birthday ever, but I did get an ice-cream cake from Dairy Queen, which made up for the snowstorm. :)

  • Viki S. May 24, 2010 at 11:45 am

The night of my 16th birthday my mother let me stay out all night. It was great. My girlfriend and I played on the swings in the local park while watching shooting stars and talking all night long.

  • Angela Messer May 24, 2010 at 12:23 pm

My sweet 16 birthday party was spent in the back yard, with about 25 girls piled into a pop-up camper and a tent….good thing none of us really slept!
    Thanks for the contest!

Sweet 16 was a pretty laid back affair. I hung with my family and a few friends at the house, ate some cake and got some nice gifts.

  • Tiah May 24, 2010 at 2:47 pm

My birthday is in August so when my birthday came around, everyone was gone on their summer vacations. JERKS! My parents are cool though, they took me shopping. My dad let me buy tons of shoes and he didn’t complain (that was his gift, lol). Then my parents took me to get my license. That is the most important part of being 16 anyway. :)

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  • marian May 24, 2010 at 2:58 pm

i didn’t do anything big for my sweet 16, celebrated at school with my friends and a nice little party with the family.

  • Miranda May 24, 2010 at 3:14 pm

  • Yiling May 24, 2010 at 3:57 pm

  • Chelsea B. May 24, 2010 at 4:30 pm

Being able to say, “I’m sixteen.” when asked how old I was. Yes, it was a big deal to me ;-)

  • LSUReader May 24, 2010 at 4:57 pm

I remember it snowed the year I was 16. Don’t laugh–I grew up in South Louisana, and that was the first snow we had in my lifetime! Schools closed and everything. Hurricanes we were good at, but snow–not so much.

  • Stacey Smith May 24, 2010 at 5:11 pm

Sweet Sixteen I was having a pool party and a night of watching scary movies whit all my friends sleeping on the floor in the living room.I screamed so bad at one scary part in a movie that i scared everybody else there and we all ran out of the house.

  • Raelena May 24, 2010 at 7:02 pm

I hate parties so on my birthday I just hung out at home with my family and boyfriend. Not too exciting :)

  • Sheilla May 24, 2010 at 7:47 pm

Sweet Sixteen seems so long ago now but I think it was just out to dinner and a movie, and another year older.

It’s so far back in ancient history, I really can’t remember my 16th birthday. I know I was going to school and working, so I probably didn’t do too much.

  • Joder May 24, 2010 at 9:05 pm

In all honesty, the only memorable thing that happened exactly on my sweet sixteen birthday was that I started my monthly cycle. I was a late bloomer and my mother was way more excited about it than I was. For her, it was her little baby growing up. Oh I could think was UGH.

  • Pamk May 24, 2010 at 11:20 pm

looking back at that year is so bittersweet. My mother passed away when I was seventeen so I have lots good memories of her that year. I got my car with me driving her around was fun and the sweet sixteen bday party she threw. It was a good year.

Being able to drive. We lived on a farm so I was able to drive to and from school (junior year) and work, or on farm errands. I thought it was so cool to be able to take myself and not have to ask someone to take me places. I could have driven when I was fourteen (had a learners permit) but I had an older sister and she got to drive, I really love my sister but it was so much cooler to be able to drive myself. It was also the first time I got to go to prom.

  • Ale May 25, 2010 at 6:51 pm

    ooooh!! I want!!!

About my sweet sixteen? It sucked major booty, trust me… But I got a kiss from the guy I liked at the time– like a REAL first kiss! :-) LOL *blush*

Turning 16 was not sweet for me. We had just moved and I didn’t know anyone, so no party or anything. I don’t remember anything else about it (way too long ago).

Sixteen is a potent age. I met the love of my life when I was sixteen. Unfortunately, we didn’t stay together, but no one has ever taken his place. All I have to do is think of him and I am sixteen all over again : )
