Meghan Chase used to be an ordinary girl…until she discovered that she is really a faery princess. After escaping from the clutches of the deadly Iron fey, Meghan must follow through on her promise to return to the equally dangerous Winter Court with her forbidden love, Prince Ash. But first, Meghan has one request: that they visit Puck—Meghan’s best friend and servant of her father, King Oberon—who was gravely injured defending Meghan from the Iron Fey.
Yet Meghan and Ash’s detour does not go unnoticed. They have caught the attention of an ancient, powerful hunter—a foe that even Ash may not be able to defeat….
An eBook exclusive story from Julie Kagawa’s Iron Fey series.
Winter’s Passage is a short E-Book that falls in between what happens in The Iron King & The Iron Daughter, mainly Meghan’s journey to settle up her deal with Prince Ash by surrendering herself to the Winter Court. Meghan also asks that Ash take a short detour so she can check on Puck, who is still unconscious, but of course something bad has to happen. They’re being stalked by a very powerful Hunter.
After reading the Iron King this is a great “in between” book, that will keep you interested & tie you down until Iron Daughter comes out in August. It comes right on the heels of The Iron King, though a short journey there is lots of action for Meghan & Ash.
It’s really short, at around 60 some odd pages so it’s also a fast read. This is the first YA novella I have read & it was a great read, I love Ms. Kagawa’s writing it’s fresh & vibrant. It did help that while reading this it was 100F outside & Ms. Kagawa put me straight into the Winter Court to cool down.
Check out Julie Kagawa’s website for the free download, which I have linked above.

I just got this and can’t wait to read it.
It’s such a fast read, you’ll be done in like 2 hours MAX. I have 3 more books to read before Daughter, even though I wanna read it now! lol
I love Julie’s writing, and I am not a fairy person but I really enjoyed the Iron King and I felt like the Iron Daughter was even better, and though I have read both, I cant wait to read this one! Great review.
I’ve hear that her writing is amazing… Still have to read The Iron King though =)
