WLP’s 1st Challenge : VC Andrews
I was on Twitter (stop me if you’ve heard this one) chatting with @staciakane , @psynde & @johnnie_cakes about VC Andrews & how shocking it is NOW that most of us had read Flowers in the Attic when we were kids. Funny thing is, I don’t remember much about it other then I know I should have been horrified & it wasn’t something I should have read as a kid. Turns out most of us got our introduction into smut through Flowers!

Anyways, we all decided to re-read Flowers in the Attic this August. So I figured we could make it into a challenge kinda thing & we can all meet back at the end of August or mid-September & talk about it, now as adults.

I’m in. I actually have quite a few packed away. There was one he wrote…I need to find the title…that REALLY blew me away. Went above and beyond his normal shit.
The Casteel series was also a winner.

I totally read the Casteel Saga too! Heaven and Logan? Or they were the Logans. 2 decades has killed those brain cells. I HAVE TO check out the ghost writer’s stuff now too. For some reason I thought it was VC’s own son doing the writing lol
I have heard daughter, but nope. We moved on and look where we end up, back to the same shit we read as pervy kids! lol
The only other ones I’ve read other than the Flowers series was My Sweet Audrina, and that was MESSED UP too!

We were too busy with our future husbands I think. I started hanging with Shug when I was 10, corrupted him to being more than a friend by 13, had an official dating status by 15. He was hard to trank, but I got him in the end.

Oh me, count me in! This was also my first intro to smut…I remember reading the naughty parts and thinking…huh, wait, let me read that again. And again. Bad ole’ girl in the making.

I’m so NOT in. Once was enough thank you. I think I was too naive to be disturbed by this book when I was a teenager. I’m disturbed now but maybe for other reasons I don’t know. LOL. Y’all have a good time with this one, I’ll just watch this round.

I haven’t read Flowers in the Attic though I had read others by VC Andrews a few days before I ended up in the hospital (nothing major). I was disturbed by what I did read but, hell, I’ll go there again! =)

Holy crap…. I did read that book – it was creepy. And I think I was roughly in 8th grade. How wrong was that? Apparently not that wrong if so many others have read it too. I may have to join in on this just for nostalgia! Thanks!!

I think I was more creeped out by the movie when I saw it as everything felt more real to me as a kind then.
I saw the movie before reading the book too! In reading it after, I thought the movie did an awesome job at capturing the really dark and farreeeaky feel the book takes on. The MOM? Whoa.
