WLPW2K: The Dirty 30

October 17th is my 30th birthday. No I am not freaking out, honestly it’s just another phase right? I’m so not one of those women, who freak out about birthday’s so you can all relax & be safe knowing I won’t go mental when it happens.

Two years ago I started a mini 30 project. I asked a few of my friends to tell me what I should do before I turn 30 & they responded with all sorts of cool things.

  • You should put your head to the pillow each and every night with a feeling of satisfaction and self-pride.
    If that means being nicer or being less nice or challenging yourself or whatever… just go to bed with happiness in your heart and whenever your time comes, you’ll die happy.
  • Throw out and or give away any stuff in your wardrobe you havent worn in a year! {Done}
  • Have a 3-some (of course this came from a guy friend) {So not happening, I might break a hip}
  • Stop worrying about your age. It’s just a number… {Done, cause I never have worried about age}
  • Live. Do what you want to do, not what we’d want you to do {Everyday!}
  • Travel {April 2011, I am flying to LA for RT!}

I had a massive list somewhere & of course I lost it. But you get the gist. What do you think I should do before I turn 30? It can be words to live by, places to go, things to see, goals..anything.

Cause as always, WLP Wants To Know.

    I turned 30 this year and in the months leading up to the big day I would challenge myself to do something daredevily and/or different. I took a flying trapeze class, tried a pole fitness class and started kinda sorta blogging. For me it was about not letting myself feel like I was stuck in a rut and that I can do whatever I set my mind to do. Regardless of what age I am. I’ve loved everything second of the adventure.

    Your hair in that picture is epic. So cute! I have 1 week left of my twenties and I want to do something but I am so lame I can’t think of anything. I will check back later and steal an idea. :)

    Make a “life” timeline you can pull out and laugh at every time life reminds you timelines are silly.

    Live each day with no regrets and if you have any, address them now. :)

    I have loved my 30s so far. I’ve had such a better sense of self. I wish that for you, too.

    Uhm It’s your Dirty Thirties, who cares about what you do befoooore it, think about how to make the most of it, you have 10 years to do 30 dirty things :) Be it roll around in mud for the hell of it or make a conquest of having taking advantage of less than innocent men in places like a restuarant beer fridge or department store dressing room. :) Also… in you plan to travel… join the mile high club. Being as Denver is the Mile High city and we have an abundance of men here, I suggest visiting Colorado in that particular quest :) two birds (or three) with one stone (or bone) :)

    Watch the Randy Paush “Last Lecture” (the whole 45 min thing) if you haven’t. I loved it.

    Thirty is awesome. Thirty is when I changed my life and decided who and what I wanted to be. I chucked everything I hadn’t used in a year. Clothes, cookery, knick-knacks, chucked it all. When I moved in to my apartment, I had two huge things of books, a couple movies, my computer and my clothes and one or two keepsakes. It was liberating. Did it with the husband too. But, I got that one back. LOL. Decided I really couldn’t live without him.

    I found me again and I have to say, it was wonderful. I’ll be 33 on the 15th… I’ll be celebrating 3 years of having removed my head from my own ass. LOL.

    What to do before you’re 30? Why not plan what you want to accomplish in the whole of your life? Happily Ever After happens one day at a time.

    I hope your birthday is lovely and filled with much joy!

    See, I’m filled with love today. Hehehe. Probably because I found out I’m going to Sanibel Island for 6 days at the end of Sep. WHOO HOO.

    When was the last time you stayed out until the sun came up?! That is the only thing I think sucks about the 30s…you’re over it earlier.
    So go out -soon- and dont come home until its light out.
    But the 30s are pretty rad….

    Have a kick-ass birthday!

    Oh God…sorry a wee bit tipsy on that post…

    Thirty’s are all about change. But it’s good change.
    You’ll see ;)
