There is a lesser known phenomena in the blogger world, I’d like to confess today:
I have readers block.
You know writers have writers block, well this blogger has blogger block aka readers block. I know I’m not alone, a few of us have discussed this issue at length. I read a book a day all last week, yet it’s now Tuesday and I haven’t touched a book since I finished my last one on Sunday.
I looked at my TBR pile and giggled, then looked at my EReader and I didn’t giggle. I think I “over read” last week and my brain is saying take a few days off Pix…so I’m listening to it, for once.
Am I alone? Are there days where you need a break from your reading? How do you get out of that funk?
Oh yes… there are very often times when I need a break from books. Even though I love reading.
And then I get in a reading funk and have to find something to snap me out.
And that’s a totally cute pic…
I picked up Mockingjay, if that doesn’t snap me outta my funk I don’t know what will.
I’m not a blogger but I go through periods where I’m having trouble getting motivated to read. It always seems to happen when I have a bunch of library books that are getting close to their due dates. I’ve found that picking up a book that I already have read and absolutely love can shake me out of it.
I used to be like that too when I borrowed library books, same with renting movies! lol
Oh yes. I’ve recently been through it. I think that is why my reading has slowed down a bit. I still read a lot, but I’ve stretched out my reading a bit. Doing something else seems to help. Looking at the tbr does not.
I did that for awhile, slowed down but last week was a reading rampage..I think I over did it! lol
To get rid of my writer’s block I either read or watch an inspiring movie. Generally gets me going.
Ahh but I just read, no writing
There are definitely days that I feel like I need a break from reading, but I don’t think I have ever fallen into a funk, yet, so I can’t give you any ideas on that end, sorry! As my reading has increased over the past year I haven’t necessarily found myself not wanting to read at all…but sometimes really indecisive about what book I want to read next. I know I want to read something, but I can sit there and stare at my 900+ books and think…Wow, I have nothing to read! WTH?! That is where I sometimes have trouble, when you’re reading for pleasure do you have a certain way that you pick out your next book, or do you just wing it and play it by ear?
I usually wing it, unless they’re review books…which I still have a ton to get through. BAH!
I find when I read 1-2 books a day for more then a week then I have to chill. I actually do re reads. For some reason reading older books rests my brain. I guess since I already know what’s going to happen. lol
I have a secret, I think I’ve only re-read 10 books in my lifetime.
Wow, i love your posts!! Would you like to participate in my Bookish Ninja blog thingy? I’m here to personally invite you.

I get reader’s block too. I go through reading binges and then need a break. Thank god for those breaks because that’s the only time I do laundry.
yep, actually have this happen more than i like to, but I usually re-read an old favorite, or just seem to wait, i know you can’t just sit back and wait, but trying picking up a book you truly loved and read it again.
I have noticed that i seemed to get bored when i read on my ereader then when i don’t…maybe it is just me. good luck
