Half Summer faery princess, half human, Meghan has never fit in anywhere. Deserted by the Winter prince she thought loved her, she is prisoner to the Winter faery queen. As war looms between Summer and Winter, Meghan knows that the real danger comes from the Iron fey—ironbound faeries that only she and her absent prince have seen. But no one believes her.

Worse, Meghan’s own fey powers have been cut off. She’s stuck in Faery with only her wits for help. Trusting anyone would be foolish. Trusting a seeming traitor could be deadly. But even as she grows a backbone of iron, Meghan can’t help but hear the whispers of longing in her all-too-human heart.

The Iron Daughter is book two (or 2.5) in Julie Kagawa’s Iron Fey Series.

Meghan Chase has just found out she is half human and half fae, the daughter of Oberon, the King of the Summer Fae. Meghan made a deal with Winter Prince Ash, to help her find her brother and now it’s time for her to pay up.

Ash takes Meghan to his mother, the Summer Queen, Mab. Once in the Winter Court, Ash deserts Meghan and she is devastated. Little does she know, something more important in brewing which leads up to a war with Summer & Winter. If Meghan doesn’t get Ash’s help, it could mean the end of both Summer & Winter.

As I have said before, The Iron Fey series is one of my favorite YA’s out in 2010 and this time around Ms. Kagawa doesn’t disappoint. Her writing is action packed and emotionally intense, even if Meghan isn’t just yet. But keep in mind, she’s still a teenager and just because she’s thrown into this world, it doesn’t mean she has to like it or not talk back (even when she really shouldn’t). But you do feel that she’s growing, she’s starting to understand the world around her and what she needs to do because there really is no turning back.

There is a huge war looming between the courts when the Season Scepter is stolen, which leads Meghan once again into the path of danger and right back in between Puck and Ash. I can’t forget, Grim, who always pops up just when you think he’s ditched everyone for good. There are also a few new characters that you either hate or love, there is no in between. But I have to tell you, Ironhorse…I love love love. *sniffle*

The romance is still heartbreaking, I really love Puck and Ash, I have no idea which “team” I belong too. It changes every chapter! I don’t know how Meghan can stand to be caught in between such polar opposites and not scream! Either way, it’s overwhelming for me so I can’t imagine what it would be like to be in Meghan’s position.

After finishing The Iron Daughter, I neeeeeeed to have a copy of The Iron Queen right about now. The ending of the Iron Daughter, whoa. February 2011 can’t come soon enough, but then again that will be the conclusion to this series. I may have to push back reading it, I don’t think I’m ready to let these characters go so soon. To me, thats a hallmark of a wonderful series and that is exactly what The Iron Fey Series is.

Once again, Meghan is on an epic journey and I can’t wait to see how it all ends….I think

I LOVED Iron Horse in TID, I couldn’t believe what happened! I really enjoyed this one more than TIK, it was much more intense and action packed. However the ending left me with my mouth hanging open. I read a snip of The Iron Queen and OHMYGOSH can TIQ be here already?!

I loved this book as well! I feel the same, I want to read the next book but at the same time I don’t want to say goodbye to the characters! I am also in the middle about what “team” I am on, Jule has made it too difficult to decide!
