When Wicked Lil’ Pixie so graciously asked me to take part in her 13 Wicked Days of Christmas, I grabbed my Santa hat and hopped on her back! (I didn’t really hop on her, just felt like saying that).
Since Pixie is a little loopy like me (we have a shared Gumby fetish thanks to Carolyn Crane), I knew I had to come up with something outstanding that will grab people so they won’t read my post and go, “whoa, that KT Grant is boring as watching paint dry”.
So when all else fails you fall back on the one sure thing that will have people running to read your post. Discuss hot men and post many drool worthy, recognizable men pictures! But this gratuitous post has a theme, because it’s for the holidays, and I’m all about promoting my fellow authors.
I give you my top secret list of the 5 must have heroes of 2011 who would be invited to sit (as I sit on their lap) at my table for Christmas dinner.
Rhys Trahaearn from The Iron Duke by Meljean Brook. Rhys may look respectable on the surface since he’s a rich Duke and all, but underneath this man not only has a will of steel but the man is quite the talent with his mouth and hands. He wouldn’t turn away any of the holiday fare I set down in front of him. Plus, he would tell us eye-popping stories of the air and sea and how he sacrificed his own life to save millions of people suffering as slaves to a powerful nasty enemy.
Jeff Martini from Touched by an Alien by Gini Koch. This is a man who looks fine in a suit as well as out of it. He may not enjoy his mother’s homemade meatloaf, but he does like to eat and share conversations with others about his planet. Martini is pretty eye candy. Hey, I need something nice to look at while I eat. His stamina (in the kitchen as he helps me cook, I mean) can go on for hours and hours where he’ll sweat up a storm as he… *fans self*
I like a little drama at my table, so this is a two for one special guest. These two men will surely get into it as they tear off their shirts with punches flying because they have such unbridled hate for one another (which I find so sexy). Packard the Kabob Sterling and Otto the Cucumber Sanchez will bring drama to any special party to shake it up. They can do magic tricks since they have special powers and Otto wears a fun beret that he’ll let me wear as I serve my guests. Also Packard makes a mean kabob appetizer dip to go along with Otto’s cucumber salad.
This next guest will be a big hit and keep everyone in line. How can you not have a party without Terrible from Stacia Kane’s Chess Putnam series? Terrible will be stylin’ in his bowling shirt and strange street lingo that will probably have us all going, “what did he just say?”. He’ll bring some excellent tunes for us to dance to after he clears the table with his hearty appetite, and may break one of my chairs since he’s larger than life with that body of his. Hmmm bulging muscles…
And since I’m all about promoting myself, how can I not invite one of my own characters to dinner? We need a bit of salt and when I mean salt, I’m talking about salty as in a man who doesn’t have a filter when he speaks. Mr. Martin from my latest release, The Prince’s Groom is a brash, forty year old retired pirate who enjoys a good dark ale and will break out into song after scarfing down his food. And for those who enjoy hair on their men, he’s one hairy hottie, except on his head. Martin’s table manners are much to be desired, but knows how to have a good time. Plus, he’ll bring some prized plunder the men can enjoy such as brandy and cigars. Martin also has the best tales that will keep us all riveted for hours.
But wait right there! My party is not complete with our special guest! He may melt if he gets too close to the oven because he is putty-like, but he’ll make us all laugh and cheer. He’s Gumby! A holiday party is not complete until Gumby visits. He’ll bring his dog Nopey, (strangest name for a dog I’ve ever heard) and they’ll put on a show for us. But Gumby is a slippery one and end up eating all the cookies I spent hours making from scratch as he goes on his merry way to the next house, bring Christmas cheer to all.
This is just a small taste of the men I would invite to my house for Christmas dinner.
If you have to choose any hero from a book to eat at your table, who would it be? Leave a comment here telling me who and one lucky winner will win my just released holiday romance, The Christmas Fantasy & The Princes Groom.
All Contests for the 13 Wicked Days of Christmas end on Wednesday December 29th, Winners Announced On Thursday December 30th. US/Canada ONLY.
I just finished reading The Christmas Fantasy and I would love to eat Jackson….I mean, have Jackson over to dinner. A hot fireman with glasses…scrumptious!

OMG, What is happening here? Otto letting you wear his beret? LOL. Great post. This is a dinner party I sure want to be at. I luff all these guys. And you included GUMBY! Wheeeeeee!!
Otto had to fix something in my bedroom for a few hours during the party. Gumby put on a show to keep everyone happy.
What a wonderful list! I would totally have Martini, Otto & Packard at my table. I would love to have Ethan from the Chicagoland vampires series at my table.
I finally read Chloe’s YA book about a prep school in Chicago and have the second on waiting TBR. I really enjoy her writing style
Hello to WLP and KT!
The Iron Duke, please and thank you! He too, would always be welcome at my table. I’ve recently been on a historical romance kick, so I think I’d have to add Ralston and Nick from Sarah Maclean’s Nine Rule to Break When Romancing a Rake, and Ten Ways to be Adored When Landing a Lord. Regency brother- twins!- hotness FTW.
Nine Rules to Break was also one of my fav read this year. Hot secret library love scene!
I’ll take Packard, you can keep beret wearing Otto. My number 1 pick to eat at my table is Falin Andrews in the Alex Craft series by Kalayna Price.
*Grabs Otto*
Looooove it!!!! And I had no idea Gumby’s dog’s name was Nopey, LMAO! I need Acheron at my dinner table right NOW and no, I don’t care that he is married!
Me either! Thanks to Wikipedia, I now know about Nopey
I’d want to have dinner with Micah from Maya Banks Sweet Series.
Would Micak cook a candlelight dinner for you?
Mmmmmmm Richard Armitage, mmm. So yummy.
Right now I would have…Carreg from Kelly Gay’s books, Stefan from Patrica Brigg’s books, William the Wolf from Bayou Moon, oh and Clay from Kelley Armstrongs books
You know I had to put up a picture of Richard!
You know I had to put up Richard. Nom.
Yumma lumma. Martini is my fave.
I claim dibs!
Great post
Would love to have Martini at my table! Also Clay from Kelley Armstrong’s books.

Hmmm Martini…
Hmm Martini…
Good one, KT, and the pic of Sir Guy of Robin’s Hood is making me drool. LOVE that show.
Who knew a men could wear eyeliner and leather so well?
Gumby would be a good choice because his tremendous flexibility would be fun. I like Sir Guy there, he’s a misunderstood hottie. I of course also have to invite the BDB boys since they’re all so hot.
Rehv is a great cook, isn’t he? Perfect for dinner!
I would like to have Roark from J.D. Robb’s In Death series to eat at my table.
Sorry, Roarke’s in my bedroom… busy dusting.
I think Rhevenge from JR Wards BDB series would be interesting to have to dinner. I also like Mecheres (but not the one from the cover – not that same as the one in my head) from Jeaniene Frost Night Huntress World series.
I’ve got to choose Bones from Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress series. Now that’s one hot vamp.
I would pick Gin from the Elemental Assasins series.
Barrons without a doubt. And I would hope that he’d use Voice on me and make me do naughty and dirty things!
I would have Acheron from the Dark-hunters series.
Wow, Am I the only one to pick Zhadist here? He is the Ulitmate Bad Boy…That I luv ;D.
