The best thing holidays; is the food.

    • Seleste deLaney December 18, 2010 at 1:20 pm

Mmmmmmm cookies and chocolates and shrimp cocktail and…damn it, I haven’t eaten anything and I can already feel my ass spreading. ;-) Just kidding. You’re right, the food is to die for :)

Hmmm… Fave ‘adult’ thing about the holidays? I think it has to be the “grown-up’s” egg nog! Whether you like it with rum or bourbon or whatever, this is a necessity for sanity when “enjoying” some parts of the holiday.
i.e.: Present wrapping night – Where’s the scissors/paper/tape??!? How do you wrap *that*? Quick! Throw a blanket over everything, I hear a kid walking around! – Don’t stress, have more egg nog and enjoy the glow! :)
Or Christmas Carolling – How does this song go? I forgot the lyrics! There’s a *second* verse??!? Hum, hum, humhum… I can’t sing!! – Don’t worry, have some more egg nog and make up your own Carols!
Or after the presents have been unwrapped and your living room looks like Xmas exploded – drink more egg nog and watch the kids playing with the packages the presents came in, and revel in knowing that at least your taste in boxes is appreciated! :p

LOL I love this comment :P I have to confess…I’ve never had eggnog. Second time confessing this in two days, apparently I won’t be forgiven until I remedy the situation. *runs off in search of eggnog*

The best thing about the holidays, pumpkin pie with whipped cream covering it.

My husband would love that too. Sadly no one else in the house will touch pumpkin pie, so he’s kind of screwed LOL

Food is definitely the best thing about the holidays. Although all I have to do is LOOK at the food and I gain weight. Sigh. The Christmas miracle would be if I didn’t gain weight this year! :-)

I could use one of those miracles. Pretty sure I only have to think about it. Ugh!

Great vlog. I watched while doing my holiday baking. Cookies all over my kitchen right now.

    • Seleste deLaney December 19, 2010 at 5:13 pm

LOL I hope that doesn’t mean you were throwing them at your computer and missing :P Mmmmm cookiessssss…. Yep, there’s another pound. Damn it.

  • SarannaDeWylde December 19, 2010 at 1:00 am

Seleste, You are so cute. :)

Anyway, my favorite part of the holidays is seeing the joy and magic still in my kids’ excited squeals on Christmas morning. They both “know”, but indulge me.

Also, I like that there are more stories showcased in various outlets about the good things people do for each other instead of how many people were shot in the Paseo.

    • Seleste deLaney December 19, 2010 at 5:14 pm

      *blush* Thanks.

I love that too. We celebrated just us and the kids today. They were soooooo happy–great moments :)

And YAY for good news for a change :)

  • LIRSHA December 19, 2010 at 3:24 am

my favorite is is being with the family, eating and laughing at eachother ! but at the same time it sux cuz some1 always gets mad and ruines the mood. lol

    • Seleste deLaney December 19, 2010 at 5:15 pm

Haha sounds like my family. Fortunately most of us are fairly intoxicated by the time things turn ugly so we forget pretty quickly :P

  • fictdoodles December 19, 2010 at 5:23 pm

I have to confess…I’ve watched this more than once and STILL haven’t been able to focus enough on the words to know what the story is about. Seleste is FREAKING HOT!!! Lol

    • Seleste deLaney December 19, 2010 at 5:27 pm

*blushes more* Just me babbling about how the joy of Christmas for adults comes in the form of holiday erotica. No worries. And thanks :)

  • Stacy (urbanFantasyInvestigations) December 19, 2010 at 8:20 pm

My fave part of the holidays is seeing my kids faces light up when they see the presents under the tree and watching them play while me and dh relax in a mess of wrapping paper.

  • Emma Cunningham December 20, 2010 at 8:47 am

    Seleste, you’re pretty awesome!

My favourite thing about the holiday is definitely the themed erotica. Rowr. ;)

    *grin*

    • Seleste deLaney December 20, 2010 at 6:46 pm

Hehe there is nothing quite like wishing you could make it on Santa’s naughty list :P

  • pj December 20, 2010 at 10:54 am

Lookin’ saucy in your holiday outfit. ;)

Great vlog and I’m thinking my fav adult thing about the holidays would be the adult beverages.

There’s eggnog, done properly – you must try this. Insanely good.

My personal fav, real hot chocolate – sinfully good, esp stirred with a peppermint candy cane.

Hot toddies – so good to warm you up

Mulled wine – super fantastic if you’re a wine drinker

I could go on, but you get the idea. ;)

    • Seleste deLaney December 20, 2010 at 6:48 pm

I haven’t had REAL hot chocolate in sooooo long. Mmmmmm. Can I BUY good eggnog? I must know….

  • Danielle La Paglia December 20, 2010 at 10:44 pm

What the hell! You didn’t tell you me you quoted me here! ;)

Okay, my favorite part of the holidays is giving to my daughter. It truly is the most fun. Aside from that, I love to bake…cookies, breads, pies, cobbler, you-name-it. Baking makes me happy, and in Southern California, it’s the only time it’s cool enough to turn on the oven.

    • Seleste deLaney December 21, 2010 at 12:28 am

LOL I said when I asked the question that you volunteered to be quoted if you answered. Besides, it isn’t like you are the ONLY Danielle I know :P

  • Marquetta December 23, 2010 at 8:45 pm

The best thing about the holidays is the day after. The madness is finally over!!!!!

    • Seleste deLaney December 29, 2010 at 10:37 am

Haha I’m looking forward to it. Our holidays never actually end until after New Year’s (in-laws visit in between Christmas & New Year’s), so I have a few more days yet :)

  • Stephmartin71 December 29, 2010 at 8:29 pm

The best thing about the holidays..? Humm?.. I actually hate to admit this only because I’m giving my friend waaay too much credit for this, but, she invited me last year & this year to her Church, Gingerbread house event. I’ve always secretly wanted to make my own creation or dissaster-which ever happens first ;) Me being a semi crafty sort of person. I didn’t realize until last year & my first time, how much I really enjoyed & lost myself into this. The only other thing that lets me get to that level of stress freeing imagination is my luv of reading books. Once I get INTO reading whatever the book I pick, the world around me could literally fall apart & I wouldn’t even know it, until it was too late.
