I have 2 novels and a novella coming out next year, so it is lovely and busy…but the first is Harbinger, the fourth book of the Order. I’m excited, but also sad as it is the last in the series.
I really enjoyed Kate Locke’s God Save the Queen. It was lots of fun, but also a fresh take on both steampunk and the supernatural
I’m from New Zealand, so I love Christmas pudding (not the American kind of pudding!). It’s a dense fruit cake that is steamed, and then you pour a little brandy on it and set it on fire. Once it’s out, you pour on some brandy sauce.
Baby It’s Cold Outside. Not particularly Christmasy to me…
Well back in New Zealand we always have a holiday BBQ.
One of my dear old relatives who did love to knit, so I ended up with a huge amount of scarves and gloves that I never wore.
No ones ever told me I give bad gifts, but I guess I have probably given my Dad a fair amount of socks. He’s the hardest one to buy for!
As a kid the Ballantine clan would gather on Boxing Day (the day after Christmas) and my great-Aunt would cook. She would insist on all the trimmings even though it was summer and we were all sweating. Nothing quite like a full Christmas dinner, and then running outside to play!
Everyone always calls me Pip, except my parents who never will!
I like to collect a stone, or a rock from wherever I visit. Just a little reminder of my travels. I keep them in a tall jar.
Giveaway a signed copy of Hunter and Fox! Just tell Pip your favourite book on 2012!
Hard to ever identify a fav but I loved Gunmetal Magic by Ilona Andrews, and also enjoyed the Janus Affair.
Also, I truly want to try a proper Christmas pudding now. Brandy sauce!

Thanks for a fun post! Man it’s hard to pick a fav. This was a great reading year for me. So I’d have to say top of the list would be Kevin Hearne and Ilona Andrews.
SO many good books this year. I swear I give a different answer each time I’m asked. I absolutely loved Bear Meets Girl by Shelly Laurenston.
It’s hard to choose just one, but here are several of my favorites: Jennifer Estep’s Widow’s Web, Kevin Hearne’s Tricked and Gini Koch’s Alien Diplomacy.
I am not sure, I have read quite a few good ones but let’s sat Something secret this way comes by Sierra Dean
It wasn’t written in 2012– but for me, it was Confessions of a Shopaholic!
Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to share with us. I think a holiday BBQ sounds just dandy
One of my favorite reads this year was A Perfect Blood by Kim Harrison, I just cannot get enough of Rachel Morgan and the gang.
I’ve had this book on my wish list for a bit, so would love to win it.
It’s hard to pick just one book but my fav reads this year would be Third and Fourth Grave books by Darynda Jones. Both were great.
Shadow and Bone was a good one.
