I haven’t really kept up on Awards lately, but Jac emailed me personally and I thought that was too sweet not to pass up. Plus it’s not often I get called beautiful

7 things about me:

1. I am a die hard Static-X fan. DIE HARD. Almost cried when they took a hiatus or broke up or whatever the rumor is now.
2. From when I was 10 until I turned 23, I was certain I would be a Cop. I went to police college for 3 years before I dropped out in my last semester. Though I am only 5’4 & 105 pounds, I still passed the police physical & can take down a guy twice my size. Take that.
3. My mother is Irish, Scottish, Native Canadian Indian & my father is Jamacian, though he was born in New Orleans.
4. I turn 30 in October & am not one of those females who panics at the thought.
5. I have 7 piercings (Nose Stud, 2 in each ear & an orbital piercing).
6. People call me Pixie in real life, though one friend thinks he’s smart & calls me Princess.
7. I cried when Stevie Ray Vaughn died.

Now I get to come up with 10 things about me and give this award to 10 different blogs. I hate talking about myself, so this is going to be fun (thanks again Jackie, HA)

1. I have a slight problem with books. From November last year to this year, I have purchased or received 240 books. Yikes.

2. If you’re an early reader you already know this, but at the end of June my 6 year old kitty Seamus was diagnosed with Diabetes. For a month straight, I gave him insulin shots twice a day and monitored his blood sugar like crazy. He has now been in remission for over 2 months!

3. Even though I live in Canada, I am convinced the stork dropped me in the wrong Country. I absolutely detest snow. So much so, that I refuse to have anything to do with my boyfriends snowmobile or his cottage in the winter. No way am I going up North where there’s more snow.

4. I have been to over 30 concerts in my life-time. I am a die hard music fan and find that even musicians I detest on the radio, sound much better live.

5. Speaking of music, my music tastes have always been extreme. I love everything from Classical to Industrial, Heavy Metal to Rap. My music collection almost rivals my book collection.

6. I am not a big Twilight fan. After reading other YA novels, I have found that I didn’t like Twilight as much as I thought I had. I am almost afraid to type that.

7. I started this Blog/Website in April, but it was really just me rambling. At the end of September it became strictly books and I can’t believe how much has changed since then. It amazes me everyday to see that people actual care what I have to say.

8. I am convinced author Jenna Maclaine is my long lost sister. I can’t believe she came here one day in July and has stuck around and commented. I don’t think she truly knows what that meant to me and still means to me. She’s not just an author to me now, I count her as an amazing human being and my sister from another mista.

9. I am the baby of a family of 4, all of us girls. I am the only one who has yet to have children, but am the last great hope for a boy in the family as my sisters have 5 girls between them.

10. I trained and went to college to become a Police Officer but realized I couldn’t shoot another human being if my life depended on it. I worked in the court system instead for many years, then switched to working as an Administrator at an Entertainment Venue. I was just laid off at the end of June and have no idea what I want to do next.
