Paranormal News

ouija-boardOn the some things just shouldn’t be done idea, apparently there is a movie being made titled “Ouija“. Yes, keep shaking your head, it only goes downhill from here my friends. Especially when it’s being classed as a “Supernatural Action Adventure” Movie. Bad juju I tell you, you don’t mess with those boards..even if Milton Bradley makes them!

This weekend, I had a Extreme Paranormal marathon as I hadn’t seen the show yet. I am shaking my head as I type this, because it truly was one of the worst of the paranormal shows I have seen. From the over acting, to the fake possessions, I was truly disgusted. I understand most paranormal shows are just plain boring, nothing happens and it’s all about the equiptment and the back stories…but Extreme Paranormal, horrible in my eyes. There is no need to antagonize “ghosts” for TV ratings, you only come off looking as an ass. Burying yourself in a casket on Voodoo grounds, you deserve whatever follows you home. Idiots.

new-moon-poster2-692x1024I saw my first commercial for New Moon today, yes apparently I live under a rock. Which prompted me into going to buy tickets for my best-friend and I.

No, I did not like the first movie. We giggled through-out it, especially the guy playing Jasper reminding us of Edward Scissor-hands. But nobody calls me a quitter, so I got our tickets to go opening night with the Tweens & Teens. If nothing else, they’ll be entertaining whilst screaming for Rob Pattinson.

Go figure, he’s cute as a vampire and doesn’t appeal to me at all when he’s not Edward.

Speaking of Twilight, I came across an Edward Cullen wall decal in a magazine today and almost giggled myself into a fit. I am one of those who thought Edward watching Bella sleep screamed STALKER. I also know I am not alone, so to the un-named author who I had a big ol’ discussion about Edward’s stalkerish tendencies, you jumped straight into my head when I saw this. If they weren’t $60.00 USD, you would be getting one in the mail from me! As would my bestfriend, who aptly said “Thats absolutly creepy and taking Twilight overboard”. Please note, the adult bedroom in the picture, not a kids bedroom. I’m sure my boyfriend would love that.

But her family’s dark past is wrapped in secrets and shrouded in darkness – and a demon shapeshifter has marked Denise as prey. Now her survival depends on an immortal who craves a taste of her.

He is Spade, a powerful, mysterious vampire who has walked the earth for centuries and is now duty-bound to protect this endangered, alluring human – even if it means destroying his own kind. Denise may arouse his deepest hungers, but Spade knows he must fight his urge to have her as they face the demon nightmare together…Because once the first drop of crimson falls, they will both be lost.

Barely Bewitched Review

Welcome to Duvall, Texas, where new witch Tammy Jo Trask has just unleashed an accidental Armageddon…”Oops.”  Tammy Jo’s misfiring magic has attracted the unwanted attention of WAM, the World Association of Magic. Now, a wand-wielding wizard and a menacing fire warlock have come to Duvall to train her for a dangerous mandatory challenge. But is there more to their arrival than they claim?

n310401

Barely Bewitched is the second book in Kimberly Frost’s Southern Witch Series and takes place a week after Would-Be Witch (Book 1). Once again we follow Tammy Jo, a new witch who needs to learn her magic and fast. A curse leads to a spilling of Pixie Dust, which sends the whole town of Duvall into a frenzy and opens the doors between human and fairy worlds. Now, not only does Tammy Jo need to figure out how to fix the Pixie situation, she also needs to figure out how to pass the magic challenge.  Nevermind that vines are growing at insane speeds and threatening to swallow the town!

Who better to help Tammy Jo, than the gorgeous Bryn Lyons (who we know Tammy Jo is not supposed to associate with, due to a family pact) and WAM has made him off limits as well. Will Tammy Jo follow the rules? Of course not, or she wouldn’t be Tammy Jo!

Barely Bewitched is hilarious! Witches like Tammy Jo aren’t calm cool and collected in their spellcasting, no no..Tammy Jo is disaster prone. Nevermind, the Fairies are not sugar and spice and everything nice! Our fairy tales from childhood had it all wrong.

Kimberly Frost has a great series on her hands, I cannot wait to see what happens with Tammy Jo next. Nevermind her wonderful neighbours which include (a drag-queen Vampire and the ghost of her great aunt that resides in a locket). And I must say, whomever designs Kimberly’s covers…GENIUS. They are beautiful and eye catching.

Quick Reviews – Kimberly Frost – Would Be Witch

Ms. Frost’s debut novel is a wicked start to her Southern Witch Series.

Tammy-Jo Trask is slowly coming into her witchy powers, with two men to choose from (her ex on and off again Hubby and a Wizard who you’d want for yourself), an attack cat Merc and a family ghost with killer style.

Tammy-Jo has come from a long line of witches and had left behind her craft, because well..she couldn’t spell herself out of a paper-bag! She married young, to a police officer who didn’t believe a word about a priceless family heirloom that contains the ghost of a relative. When that very heirloom gets stolen at a Halloween party, Tammy-Jo goes against one of her families rules and contacts Bryn, a Wizard who’s family she has been forbidden to make contact with for help.

A definate page turner that has you giggling and wondering whats to come in this series. 4.5/5 Stars
