12 Cleaning Hacks to Get Your Home Sparkling in Minimal Time

Having a clean home is ideal, but to be honest I don’t love putting in a ton of time to getting it looking fresh and clean. Follow these home cleaning hacks and get your home sparkling in no time!

These hacks are quick and easy solutions to getting your home clean in the fastest and easiest way possible. You can also re-use and re-purpose items to get the job done!

These home cleaning hacks will help you get the cleaning done faster so you can enjoy time doing anything but cleaning! Want more tips? Check out these genius cleaning hacks.

Freshen Bed

I try to clean my mattress at least 2 times a year. Once you strip down your bed and wash all the bedding, sprinkle the mattress with baking soda. Allow it to sit for 30 minutes to an hour and then vacuum up all the baking soda. This will help remove any odors and dust that is lingering on your mattress.

Ceiling Fans

Take a pillowcase and spray the inside with the cleaner you want to use. Then simply hang the pillow case on one of the blades and wipe it off. All the dust will fall into the pillowcase and not the floor, which makes less mess. Simply shake the pillowcase outdoors, and wash like normal.

Water Stains

Cut a lemon in half and run it on your faucets to help remove any water spots you might have. If it is really bad take a washcloth and wrap around the troubled area and let it soak in vinegar for an hour. It will break down the buildup. Once it is done, buff faucets with wax paper. It will take the wax off the paper and create a protection from water spots.

Deep Clean Shower

Mix blue Dawn dish soap with vinegar in a spray bottle or bowl and put it all over the shower. Let it sit for 15-25 minutes and then scrub and wash clean. This is a powerful cleaner and will get rid of any dirt and grime.

Garbage Disposal

Get rid of that odor from your disposal by cutting up a lemon and putting them in the garbage disposal. Or add a few pieces of ice paired with 10 drops of lemon or orange essential oil down the drain.

Sponges can hold a ton of bacteria and should be changed out regularly. In the meantime put your sponge (that has no metal) in a bowl of water and microwave for 3 minutes. Let cool than air dry. Or you can toss in the dishwasher.

Grab a new dryer sheet and use it to wipe down items like baseboards in your home. It works great at attracting the dust and leaves a nice fragrance.

Brighter Clothes

Add in 1 cup of baking soda into the wash to get brighter and more vibrant clothes.

Stainless Steel

Use a drop or two of olive oil to buff your stainless steel appliances to leave them shining and free from smudges and prints.

Microfiber Furniture

Have something spill on your microfiber furniture? Use rubbing alcohol to remove the stain. Let it dry and then use a stiff bristle brush to soften up the microfiber. I do suggest testing an area first.

Clean your microwave easily. Take a bowl of water, with a few drops of lemon essential oil and microwave it in a bowl for 4 minutes. Let it sit until it has cooled, and then remove the bowl. You will then be able to easily wipe down all the spills and splatters that have happened over time.

Magic Erasers

Magic Erasers are a huge item to use in all areas of your home. Remove crayon from the walls, clean water spots from faucets and in the shower cut a piece and toss in the toilet at night to clean the toilet and more. It is a really awesome item to have on hand.
